“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else.

From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands.

God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. For in him we live and move and have our being” Acts 17:24-28a

“He heals the broken-hearted and bandages their wounds” Psalm 147:3

“Leave all your worries with him, because he cares for you” 1 Peter 5:7

In a society where there is much confusion about the purpose and meaning of life it is a sad truth that religious organisations often fail to connect the dots for people between the greatest questions of life and their lived reality. It is at this junction that Co-Care wishes to make a difference.

Co-Care is not a church. It is an NPO dedicated to meeting people where they are at and helping them get to where they need to be in order to confidently answer the four basic questions of life:

(Origin) Where do I come from?

(Morality) How do I determine what is good and bad?

(Meaning) Why do I exist?

(Destiny) Where am I going?

In order to explore these issues and create a safe space for dialogue and connection with interested people of different worldviews we have a group gathering every Friday night in Westville, Durban. As a leadership team we strive to learn together and constantly equip ourselves to deal adequately with people and their needs.

We also provide counselling that extends from assisting addicts to counselling couples. Machiel takes the lead in this area as he has extensive inter-personal and ministerial experience and has done extensive studies in theology, psychology, ethics and apologetics.
